In 2011, two Outer Banks locals embarked on a backpacking adventure together through Southeast Asia.

During their travels in Cambodia, they discovered a self-guided audio tour of a historic site. It was a completely new experience for them, and they were captivated by the depth of the stories and sounds as they wandered through the very settings where the tales unfolded.

Years later, the memory of that experience stayed with them. They thought, "What a great idea it would be to bring something like this to the Outer Banks."

And so, Outerlore was born. They hope to bring others the same special, immersive experience that left such a lasting impression on them.
